Developing Patience

Patience
Patience lies among the golden dunes,
Blanketed in soft, silken fleece,
Resting calmly beside treasures yet uncovered.

Throughout centuries, patience has come from people of all times and cultures. In The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho reveals that one of the first steps to finding your destiny is to have patience. Santiago has a very patient soul, which assists him on his way to achieving his destiny, by keeping him calm and focused, and allowing him to move on to greater things. As our world has grown through the many years, so has our patience. Scientists who are researching new cures for illnesses must try new formulas again and again, even if each one fails. All experiments have trial and error, and if we simply gave up, technology would stop expanding. Think about the very early days of human life, and how much we as human beings have changed our society. This shows the immense amount of patience that we have developed, because without it we would not have been able to complete these tasks and move forward.
